Why does it cost more for a man to get automobile insurance than it does a woman to get car insurance?

I know back in the 80s it was because men were in more car accidents, but nowadays, it’s about the same, yet men pay more for their insurance than women do? At least that’s the way it works in Canada.

men are known to drive faster and are not as cautious as woman that is what happens when you are a man

Statistically, it is not the same these days- women really are more cautious drivers still! Also, you have to consider that even if in the last couple of years men had improved their driving habits, the insurance companies will continue to look at the trends over a longer period of time rather than short spurts of improvement because those trends will give them a better idea of how to protect themselves.

It all comes down to experience ratings. It is a fact that men, especially young men, are often more reckless when they drive than women. So, since as a group they’re exposure is greater, they are charged more. Curiously, it is also a fact that certain ethnic groups die earlier or live longer than others, but that is not reflected in their rates for life insurance. Go figure.

Im sorry to tell you but it is NOT about the same. men are shown to be more careless when driving. there are also other factors that go into getting rates besides the sex of the driver

    It does not… not exactly.

Younger males premiums are higher then younger females. But as they get older, it changes to the opposite.

Younger men have more accidents then younger women. Question… who usually drives the vehicle, the man or woman? More drivng time = better possiblity of an accident.

Men are risk taker and are more likely to speed, so the insurance company say.
